Frequently asked questions
Why isn't the reminder message sent automatically? Why do I send it myself?
The app doesn't send the message for you. It has no server and doesn't pass your clients' numbers or message texts to any service. Instead, when you tap "Send reminder", it opens a ready-made message — filled in with the client's name and the appointment's date, time and service — in the messaging app on your phone, and you tap send. That way the message goes out from your own number or account, and you can change the text before sending.
- If WhatsApp is installed and SMS is available too, the app asks which one you want ("How would you like to send it?"). If only one is available, it opens that one directly. To skip the question, choose WhatsApp or SMS under Settings → Reminders → Send via.
- You can edit the message text under Settings → Reminders → Message templates.
- The app can't know whether you actually sent the message. The "Reminded" mark and the daily reminder allowance on the free plan are counted when the messaging app opens; if you cancel the channel question, nothing is used.
- The notification you get before an appointment only reminds you to message the client; nothing is sent to the client. The Remind action on the notification opens the ready-made message.
Reminder notifications aren't arriving
- Reminder notifications must be on under Settings → Reminders.
- If notification permission is off, an Allow notifications button appears on the same screen; allow notifications for the app in the iPhone's Settings. Also check that a Focus mode isn't silencing the app.
- A notification is only scheduled for appointments that are in the future, have the status "Scheduled" and aren't yet marked "Reminded".
- If the notification time (for example "the day before, 18:00") is already in the past, no notification is scheduled for that appointment. For example, if you add an appointment for tomorrow morning after 18:00 tonight, no notification will arrive.
- iOS allows at most 64 pending local notifications. The app schedules notifications for the nearest 60 appointments and refreshes the list whenever you open it.
How do I turn on iCloud sync? What does it sync?
iCloud sync is a Pro feature.
- Under Settings → iCloud, turn on iCloud sync.
- Fully close the app and reopen it; that's when the setting takes effect.
- In the same section, if iCloud account says "Connected" and Active mode says "Sync on", sync is working.
What syncs: clients, appointments, services, staff, cash entries and client photos. App settings (salon name, working hours, message templates, reminder and appearance preferences) don't sync; they are set separately on each device.
- Your devices must be signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account.
- A record deleted on one device is deleted on your other devices too.
- Your data lives in your own private iCloud database; the developer can't access it.
- If sync isn't working: check the iCloud account row (for example "Not signed in"), make sure your iCloud storage isn't full and you're online, and close and reopen the app on both devices. Also make sure Pro is recognized on that device (see "How do I restore my purchases?" below).
I'm getting a new phone. How do I move my data?
One of three ways:
- iCloud sync (Pro):
- Check that sync is on on the old phone (see above).
- On the new phone, sign in with the same Apple Account and install the app. On the last page of the welcome screens ("Pick your services"), untick the starter services that come ticked; otherwise you may end up with two of the same service, one from iCloud and one new (you can delete the extra ones under Settings → Services).
- Pro is recognized automatically; if it isn't, go to Settings → Plan → Go Pro → Restore purchases.
- Turn on Settings → iCloud → iCloud sync and close and reopen the app. Your records and photos come across.
- Because app settings don't sync, re-enter things like your salon name and message templates on the new phone.
- iPhone's own transfer or backup: If you set up the new iPhone by transferring directly from the old one, or from the old phone's iCloud or computer backup, the app's data comes with its settings (as long as you haven't turned this app off in your iCloud backup).
- Moving data with the JSON backup isn't possible in this version: the app has no feature to restore a backup file (see below).
Don't delete the app on your old phone until you've seen that everything arrived on the new one. If you don't use iCloud sync, deleting the app also deletes its data.
How do I cancel my subscription? What happens to my data if I do?
- On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top (Apple Account), go to Subscriptions, select the app and cancel. You can also get there from the app: Settings → Plan → Manage subscription (shown while Pro is active).
- A subscription renews automatically unless it's canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you're in a free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before it ends to avoid being charged. The subscription page shows when Pro will end.
- Your data is not deleted. When Pro ends, Pro-only features (for example iCloud sync, staff, detailed reports and CSV export) are locked. iCloud sync stops from the next launch and your data stays on this device. In Finance you can only view this month and last month; your older entries aren't deleted and show again if you go back to Pro. Existing records above the free plan's limits (clients, services, photos) aren't deleted either; you just can't add new ones.
- Subscriptions are tied to your Apple Account, and payments and refunds are handled by Apple. To request a refund, you can use reportaproblem.apple.com (you'll need to sign in with your Apple Account).
How do I restore my purchases?
- Make sure you're signed in with the Apple Account you purchased with.
- The app checks your subscription status with Apple every time it opens. If Pro doesn't show, tap Restore purchases at the bottom of Settings → Plan → Go Pro (you need an internet connection).
- If it still doesn't show, check under Settings → your name → Subscriptions that your subscription is active, close and reopen the app, and write to us if it doesn't work.
How do I back up my data?
- Under Settings → Backup, tap Back up data (JSON).
- When the file is ready, use the Share / save backup to Files button that appears to save it to Files, send it with AirDrop, or email it to yourself.
Good to know:
- The backup contains clients, staff, services, appointments and cash entries. Photos are not included in the file.
- The file is named
salon-yedek-YYYY-MM-DD.json. It is plain text and contains client names and phone numbers, so keep it somewhere safe. - This version has no feature to restore a backup file into the app. The JSON file is a readable copy of your data (for archiving or moving it elsewhere). To protect against data loss and to move to a new phone, use iCloud sync (Pro) and your iPhone backup.
- For cash entries (Pro), you can get a CSV file of the selected period with the share icon at the top right of the Finance screen. In income entries created from completed appointments, the Note column contains the client's name and the service.
- To save or send a client photo, open the photo and tap Share.
Why does the app ask for camera and contacts access?
- Camera: Opens only when you tap the camera button while adding a photo. The photo is saved to the client's card, not to your iPhone's Photos library.
- Photo library: Adding a photo from your library doesn't ask for permission; the system photo picker gives the app only the photos you choose.
- Contacts: Choosing a client from your contacts needs no permission. Contacts permission is only requested when you want to also save a client to your phone's contacts; if the same number is already in your contacts it isn't added again. If you don't want this, turn off Ask to save to Contacts under Settings → Clients. If you deny permission, the client is still saved in the app; you can allow access in the iPhone's Settings and add them later with Add to Contacts on the client's page.
- Notifications: For appointment reminder notifications.
For more about your data, see the Privacy Policy page.
What does Pro include, and what does it cost?
The current list and prices are in the app under Settings → Plan → Go Pro. Prices are read from the App Store and may vary by country.
Which devices does it run on?
The app is designed for iPhone and requires iOS 26 or later.
