Privacy Policy — Parıltı
This page explains how Parıltı and its home screen widgets handle data.
Summary
- You don't create an account or sign in.
- Your clients, appointments, cash entries and photos are stored on your device.
- The developer does not collect, see or share the data you enter in the app. The app does not connect to a server run by the developer.
- There is no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting software, and no third-party software library (SDK) is used.
- iCloud sync is optional and requires a Pro subscription. If you turn it on, your data is stored in your own private iCloud database, which the developer cannot access.
- The app does not send reminder messages itself. The message opens ready-made in the messaging app on your phone, and you tap send.
1. Data you keep in the app
What you enter or add in the app is stored in the app's database on your device:
- Clients: name, phone number, notes, tags, birthday
- Appointments: date, duration, status, services, price, notes, assigned staff member, a "reminded" mark
- Services: name, duration, price, color
- Staff: name, title, phone number, commission percentage
- Cash entries: income or expense amount, date, category, payment method, note
- Client photos (saved as resized JPEG files) and photo captions
- Settings: salon name, currency, working hours, reminder timing, message templates and sending preferences, appearance preferences, a local copy of your Pro status, and a daily reminder counter
This data is not sent to the developer or to any third party. The only exceptions are actions you start yourself, described below: ready-made messages (section 4), iCloud sync (section 5), and exporting or sharing (section 8).
2. What is not collected or used
The app does not collect or use:
- account details such as name, email or password (there are no accounts)
- usage statistics, analytics, an advertising identifier, or tracking across apps
- location, microphone, calendar, health data or biometric information
- any software that sends crash or error reports to the developer
3. Device permissions
Every permission is optional. You can turn any of them off at any time on the Parıltı page in the iPhone Settings app (Settings → Apps → Parıltı).
- Notifications: Reminder notifications for upcoming appointments are scheduled and shown on your device. A notification can include the client's name, the appointment time, the service and the staff member's name; this text does not leave your device. The developer does not run a notification server.
- Camera: Opens only when you tap the camera button while adding a photo. The photo you take is saved to the client's card; it is not saved to your iPhone's Photos library.
- Photo library: Adding a photo from your library uses the system photo picker. The app does not ask for access to your library; it only receives the photos you choose.
- Contacts:
- Choosing a client from your contacts uses the system contact picker and needs no permission. The app only receives the name, phone number and birthday of the person you tap.
- If you want to also save a client to your phone's contacts (or you confirm it when "Ask to save to Contacts" in Settings is on), the app asks for Contacts permission. It adds the person (name, phone, birthday) to your contacts. To tell whether the same number is already saved, it searches your contacts for that number only, and uses just the "found / not found" result, not the person's details.
- Contacts data does not leave your device. iCloud sync covers only the app's own records, not your contacts.
4. Ready-made messages (WhatsApp and SMS)
The app does not send the message itself and makes no network request of its own to do so. When you tap a button such as "Send reminder", the ready-made text (filled in with the client's name, date, time, service and your salon name) is handed to the messaging app on your device as a link, together with the client's phone number:
- SMS: the Messages app opens with the recipient and text ready.
- WhatsApp: if WhatsApp is installed, a
wa.melink opens in WhatsApp.
You always tap send yourself. The message you send is subject to the terms of the app you use and your carrier, which are outside the scope of this policy. The app only checks on your device whether WhatsApp is installed; no data is sent for that check.
One detail: if you choose WhatsApp manually under Settings → Reminders → Send via and WhatsApp is not installed, iOS may open the wa.me link in your browser. In that case the client's phone number and the message text are passed to WhatsApp's website with the link, and WhatsApp's privacy policy applies. This does not happen with "Ask every time", because the app only offers channels that can be opened on your device.
5. iCloud sync (Pro, optional)
- iCloud sync is off by default. It works only if a Pro subscriber turns it on under Settings → iCloud and restarts the app.
- When it is on, clients, appointments, services, staff, cash entries and client photos are stored with Apple's CloudKit service in your private database in the app's iCloud container, and are kept in sync across devices signed in with the same Apple Account.
- Only your Apple Account can access this database. The developer cannot see or access its contents.
- Your app settings (salon name, message templates, working hours and so on) are not synced.
- How iCloud stores and protects your data is governed by Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy.
- You can turn sync off. After that the app uses only the data on this device; the copy in iCloud is not deleted automatically (section 9). When your Pro subscription ends, sync is also no longer used from the next launch.
6. Subscription and payments (Apple)
Pro is an auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment, billing, the free trial, cancellation and refunds are handled by Apple; the developer does not see your card or Apple Account details. The app verifies your Pro status on your device using Apple's StoreKit framework and keeps a local copy of it on the device for offline launches.
Through the App Store, Apple may give the developer aggregated sales and subscription reports, and — if you turned on sharing analytics with app developers in your device settings — anonymous crash and usage statistics. These are Apple's processes and do not identify you personally; the app collects no additional data for them.
7. Widgets
Widgets show a summary of your upcoming appointments (client name, service, time and salon name) on your Home Screen and Lock Screen. This summary is kept in an on-device area shared between the app and the widget (an App Group) and does not leave your device. If you add a widget to your Lock Screen, client names may be visible while the device is locked; remove the widget if you don't want that.
8. Exporting and sharing
"Back up data (JSON)", the CSV export in Finance (Pro) and sharing a client photo use the iOS share sheet; the JSON and CSV files are first written to a temporary folder on your device. Nothing leaves your device unless you choose a destination in the share sheet (Files, AirDrop, email, a messaging app and so on); the privacy terms of that destination then apply.
The JSON backup contains personal data such as client names and phone numbers (it does not contain photos). The CSV file contains the cash entries of the selected period (date, type, category, payment method, amount, note); the note of income entries created automatically from completed appointments includes the client's name and the service. Be careful who you share these files with.
9. Retention and deletion
- Your data stays on your device until you delete it or delete the app. The developer keeps no copy.
- You can delete records one by one in the app. If you delete a client, that client's appointments and photos are deleted too. When iCloud sync is on, deletions also carry over to your other devices and to iCloud.
- Deleting the app removes the app's data from the device (database, settings, widget summary).
- If you used iCloud sync, the copy in iCloud is not deleted automatically when you delete the app. You can delete it from the storage management screen in your iPhone's iCloud settings (Settings → your name at the top → iCloud).
- If you back up your device to iCloud or to a computer, the app's data may be part of those backups, which live in Apple's services and under your control.
- The developer holds no data for this app that could be deleted. If you have a request, you can still write to studyosefo@gmail.com.
10. Security
Your data is protected by iOS app isolation and your device's protections (screen lock passcode, device encryption). The app has no passcode or lock of its own, so we recommend using a screen lock on your device and protecting your Apple Account with two-factor authentication.
11. Children
The app is meant for businesses and independent professionals and is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect personal data from children (or from anyone else).
12. KVKK and your rights
In Turkey, personal data protection is governed by Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data (KVKK).
- The developer's position: The data you enter stays on your device (and, if you choose, in your own iCloud account); the developer does not collect, access or process it. The only data the developer holds is your email address and message if you write to them by email. It is used only to reply and to resolve the issue, is not shared with third parties, and is kept for as long as that purpose requires.
- Your responsibility: If you keep your clients' information in the app — such as name, phone number, birthday, notes and photos — you are the one processing that personal data. Obligations under KVKK (informing your clients, obtaining explicit consent where needed, keeping the data safe, handling deletion requests, and so on) are yours. The app lets you delete and export records.
- Rights: Article 11 of KVKK gives people whose data is processed rights such as requesting information, correction and deletion. Because the developer holds none of your app data, there is no such data set to exercise them on; you can send requests about your correspondence to studyosefo@gmail.com. You also have the right to apply to Turkey's Personal Data Protection Authority (kvkk.gov.tr). If you live outside Turkey, any rights you have under your country's data protection law are also preserved.
13. Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we change the effective date on this page. If an update significantly changes how data is handled (for example, starting to collect data), we will also mention it in the App Store release notes.
